The East Providence Police have been led by one of their own since the day East Providence was formed.

Our first Chief of Police was promoted from within the ranks of the East Providence Police.  That tradition continued as the department grew.  Any Police Officer joining the ranks knew that if they worked hard they too could become an East Providence Police Chief.

 On May 8^th, 2009 all of that tradition and history was stripped from us because of politics.
